Ned Montgomery
A trustee since 2003 and current vice chair of the Curtis board of trustees, Ned Montgomery graduated from Deerfield Academy before studying at Trinity College (B.A. ’56; LL.D. ’95). He joined Mellon Bank in 1959 and retired in 1989 as vice chairman of Mellon Bank Corporation, and CEO of Mellon Bank Philadelphia. Since his retirement, Mr. Montgomery has devoted his time to volunteering with United Way and serving as a consultant for other non-profits. Mr. Montgomery serves on numerous boards including the Isabel Rockefeller Trust, Albert M. Greenfield Foundation, and the Marlboro Music School. He is currently chair of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. Mr. Montgomery served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and he and his wife Susan (d. 2015) have two daughters and two grandsons.
