“Mother of Peace” and “Lion” in Zulu, Nokuthula Ngwenyama (Viola ’96), has garnered international recognition as an orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and composer. The Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and esteemed Curtis alumna talks about her latest work, Flow, how she reconciles her interest in scientific exploration with her studies of religion, her career post-Curtis, the influence of viola on her compositional voice, and the versatility of her work.
