A centerpiece of the Curtis Opera Theatre’s centennial series is the East Coast premiere of The Comet / Poppea, featuring George Lewis’s The Comet juxtaposed with Claudio Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. From the U.S. premiere of Alban Berg’s Wozzeck to faculty member Jonathan Bailey Holland’s (’96) Naomi in the Living Room and alumna Rene Orth’s (’16) Empty the House, the school has a long history of debuting new, innovative works on the stage.
