Fellowships

All students at Curtis receive merit-based, full-tuition scholarships. This unique policy is entirely due to the vision of our founder, Mary Louise Curtis Bok, and the generosity of charitable supporters who give to the school’s Fellowship Program.

This inspiring program allows students to graduate without debt incurred through tuition. It also offers donors the unique opportunity to make a direct impact and have a front-row seat in the development of a future star. Annual and endowed fellowship gifts empower our students to focus on their craft and strive for musical excellence. 

Donors can create fellowships in their own name or in honor or memory of someone else. These scholarships can be funded on an annual basis, or they can be endowed. Endowed fellowships create a lasting legacy that can support talented young artists for generations to come. Fellowships can also be funded through a bequest or other type of deferred gift.

At the heart of the Curtis Fellowship Program lies the chance for supporters to connect with the world of Curtis students, gaining a deeper understanding of the school’s mission. It also helps students learn how to engage with supporters and patrons, preparing them for careers in the arts where these skills will prove to be invaluable. 

As a supporter of the Fellowship Program, you can anticipate: 

  • Invitations to a range of captivating events, including the Curtis Recital Series, Curtis Symphony Orchestra performances, Curtis Opera Theatre productions, select master classes, and other engaging opportunities, including the Leadership Lunch. 
  • Occasional updates from the student holding your sponsored fellowship or from the development office keeping you informed about the student’s notable achievements and academic progress. 
  • Acknowledgment of your generosity in Curtis’s printed materials and online platforms whenever the designated fellowship student is featured as a performer.
